What's new
Every version of Taxsy, newest first, and what changed for you in each.
1.3.0 October 2026
Bank screenshots, and smaller things that add up.
- Scan a screenshot of your banking app or Apple Wallet transactions and each payment becomes its own record, with the right date. Money coming in is left out.
- Set a receipt's date to today with one tap.
- Create a new category straight from the category menu.
- A receipt with no date on it now gets today's date.
- Items and prices are matched up more reliably, especially on receipts photographed at an angle.
- Duplicate spotting is much better. It checks every year you've saved, and recognises the same receipt even when the shop's name comes back slightly different.
- Tap anywhere on a scan in Ready to Save to edit it.
1.2.0 September 2026
Taxsy now works wherever you pay tax.
- Choose your country when you set up, or later in Settings. If you're in the UK nothing changes: 6 April tax years, MTD quarters and HMRC exchange rates, as before.
- Ireland, the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand are built in, each with its own tax year and currency. In the US you get the IRS estimated-tax periods and their due dates.
- Anywhere else, pick the date your tax year starts and the currency you work in.
- Dates like 03/04/2026 are now read the way the receipt's country of origin writes them, so an American receipt scanned in the UK is read correctly.
1.1.0 22 September 2026
Taxsy is now free to download.
- Your first ten scans are a free trial, so you can see how it reads your own receipts before you spend anything.
- After that, one purchase unlocks Taxsy forever. There's still no subscription, and still no limit on how much you scan.
1.0.2 September 2026
Four small changes.
- When a batch has a receipt from a different tax year, the alert now names it, with the merchant, date and amount, so you can tell a misread date from a receipt that really is from last year.
- A wide photo, like a train ticket, no longer pushes the edit screen off the sides of the display.
- The spreadsheet's columns are reordered: date, merchant and amount first, then the currency details, category, and the photo filename last.
- In Check Records, swipe left to delete a receipt that has lost its photo, or a leftover photo with no receipt.
1.0.1 12 September 2026
Export refinements.
- An export could leave out a receipt photo and still say it had finished. If a photo can't be included, Taxsy tells you before you share anything.
- There's a new Check Records screen in Settings. It goes through every receipt and confirms the photo is still there, so you can be sure a year is complete before it goes to anyone.
- Exports build several times faster.
- The spreadsheet is tidier. Amounts are to two decimal places, and the image filename has moved to the last column so the money columns sit together.
- Export has moved from Settings to the Summary screen, next to the totals it covers.
- It says "spreadsheet" now instead of "CSV".
You still pay once, and you can still scan as much as you like.
1.0 26 August 2026
First release.
- Point the camera at a receipt, or import photos you've already taken, and Taxsy reads the merchant, date, total and line items for you.
- On a mixed receipt you untick the personal items and the total follows.
- Everything is filed by tax year and category, with the original photo kept alongside.
- It sets up categories for your line of work, and you can change them.
- Foreign receipts are converted at HMRC's official monthly rates.
- You can export a full tax year, a calendar year, or a Making Tax Digital quarter as a spreadsheet plus every photo.
- It syncs between your iPhone and iPad through your own iCloud. There's no account, and nothing is kept on our servers.
- You pay once. There's no subscription.
